The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston requires pre-baptismal formation to be at least 8 hours, with a minimum acceptable requirement of 6 hours.

At St. Angela, the formation consists of a combination of online videos and one in-person class, for a total of 6 hours.

Once both parts of the formation have been completed, a certificate of attendance will be emailed within one week.

I have formation from another parish, is this acceptable?

Yes, parents or godparents are allowed to present a certificate from another parish, however, they are still required to watch the video corresponding to their role (the 4th video for parents and the 5th video for godparents) and submit feedback for the corresponding video.

In addition, parents must schedule an appointment  to meet with the Director of Adult Faith Formation prior to completing the application.  This meeting is to talk about the order of baptism how it is done at the parish and to answer any question parents may have.
