1. Doesn't our church receive money from the Vatican and Archdiocese? No. Our Parish is run solely through Parishioners donations and the offertory made each weekend.
2. Does the bible say we have to tithe? The term “tithe” literally means a tenth, and in a biblical context, it refers to giving back to God a portion of what He has blessed us with.
“You shall help provide for the needs of the Church means that the faithful are obliged to assist with the material needs of the Church, each according to his ability.”
3. I already give to the offertory, why do I need to also give to the Capital Campaign? The weekly offertory goes strictly towards the expenses of keeping our church doors open. These expenses include some of the following: our mortgage, utilities, Parish employees salaries, priest's rectory rent. The capital campaign pledges help us to pay down our building debt to the Archdiocese.
4. I don't make that much or have much left after expenses, how little can I give? Each, according to his or her means, should be your guide. You may look at daily expenses that are unnecessary such as coffee, fast food, door dash, etc and prayerfully find ways to use that saved money to give back.
5. Can I just set up a reoccurring payment and not feel bad about not giving on Sundays when the collection is passed around?"But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing." Matthew 6:3. Do not worry about judgement from others, instead give what you can and when you can. You can set up online recurring payments through our online donation site -
