What is the DMI?
St. Angela Merici Parish is on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ in our parish community. Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith
The very first step in this process involves assessing our greatest strengths and opportunities, and that is where the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) comes in.The DMI is an important survey tool that invites you to reflect on your discipleship journey here at St. Angela Merici.
The Disciple Maker Index is designed to:
Invite parishioners to reflect on their journey of discipleship.
Enable parish leadership to make data-driven decisions.
Help parishioners grow in their faith.

When will this happen?
The 10–15-minute survey can be accessed through an online link from September 27th, 2026 and will run through October 25th, 2026 and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide your perspective on our parish’s efforts to help you grow in relationship with Christ. All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community as a whole. We will share the link with you a bit closer to the launch of the survey. Paper surveys will also be available for those who do not have the ability to complete the survey online.
Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.

The Disciple Maker Index is a survey tool that supports Church ministry with objective data, helping Her leaders recognize their potential and envision future possibilities through a deep analysis of attitude and belief, participation, relationship/satisfaction, and demographics.
The Disciple Maker Index survey includes:
Survey administration, guidance, and tools to support parishioner involvement.
Comprehensive reports with interactive software to share survey results and responses.
Context for data to compare survey results with national trends, other parishes in the diocese, and the top three performing parishes in the country.
Faithful and expert consultation to assist with reading and interpreting survey results and to help create an actionable plan from the survey data.

Components of the Disciple Maker Index
Attitudes and Beliefs: It asks parishioners about their attitudes toward their parish and their understanding of core Catholic Church teachings.
For example, "To what extent do you believe Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist?"
Relationship and Satisfaction: We ask parishioners to share feedback on their overall parish experience, the sense of hospitality, and their pastor's leadership.
For example: "How likely are you to recommend your parish to a friend?"
Participation: We ask parishioners to provide feedback about the frequency with which they participate in different Catholic practices like Mass, reconciliation, prayer, etc.
Demographics: We ask parishioners to provide further context to their parish audience, such as age, gender, and ethnicity, which allows us to dive deeper into the data itself.
